The venue for the second of Kids in Need’s Charity Golf Days was at Bishops Stortford Golf Club where a record turnout of 96 golfers gathered to enjoy the tremendous facilities, a course that was in superb condition and some glorious weather.
The day began with coffee and bacon rolls before a shot gun start saw everyone embark on an 18 hole individual and team Stableford competition.
In the evening a 4 course meal was followed by entertainment with Mike Pugh treating us to his unique and uproarious brand of humour.
The overall winner of the Bernie Hughes Cup was Steve Sitton with a score of 41 points off a handicap of 23.
Many people contributed to the social and financial success of the day including Barclays Bank, Audi of Stanstead who made very generous donations; Premier Contract Flooring of Bishops Stortford sponsored the trophies for nearest the pins and the longest drive.
The total amount raised on the day was an amazing £6,825.00. A special thank you to the invaluable support to all of the staff at Bishops Stortford GC enabled all of the golfers who participated to enjoy a very special day.
All in all a wonderful outcome to a very enjoyable occasion and the proceeds of the day will make a significant contribution to our continuing work of granting wishes to this particularly deserving group of children.
Our sincere thanks go to everyone for their generosity and support.
